The world's most popular mobile game joins forces with luxury supercar maker McLaren Automotive on exclusive content, including welcoming the iconic McLaren 570S Coupé to the game as the first sports car ever available through the PUBG MOBILE Lucky Draw

LONDON – June 3rd, 2021 – PUBG MOBILE and McLaren are pleased to announce a collaboration that will see the industry leaders create exciting new experiences for PUBG MOBILE players. Merging the physical and digital worlds, this collaboration makes the iconic McLaren 570S Coupé sportscar available to drive in one of the world's most popular mobile games.

PUBG MOBILE, the global mobile phenomenon based on PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS, celebrated over 1 billion downloads earlier this year, and this collaboration will be its first with an automotive brand. The McLaren 570S Coupé sportscar, known for its incredible power-to-weight ratio, is now available in-game and will feature six sleek finishes while being the first sports cars available exclusively through the PUBG MOBILE Lucky Draw system. The new finishes include McLaren-Gold-plated Ivory, McLaren-Kingdom of Gold, McLaren-Fantasy City, and more.

Beginning from June 1st, PUBG MOBILE players can enjoy an array of McLaren content, including the McLaren 570S Coupé Airdrop on Spawn Island and Cheer Park, the McLaren 570S Coupé as a parachute, and the McLaren Exhibition Hall on the Classic Erangel Map. Players owning a McLaren 570S Coupé can choose their cars as a parachute to drop in style, and the Classic Erangel Map has spawned the McLaren Exhibition Hall where players can admire the McLaren 570S Coupé, and open its doors in search of combat supplies. The new content extends to Spawn Island where players can get their sportscar through an airdrop, as well as in Cheer Park where players can signal to summon their cars.

“PUBG MOBILE is well known for its innovative gameplay, while McLaren is a brand known for innovation, and pushing boundaries in the automotive field,'' said Vincent Wang, Head of PUBG MOBILE Publishing, Tencent Games. “It's incredibly important that we collaborate with forward-thinking companies that will bring real value to our players, in any field. This is the first time we've collaborated with an automotive brand, and we're delighted to be taking these first steps with such an iconic luxury brand like McLaren.”

Gareth Dunsmore, McLaren Automotive Chief Marketing Officer, said: “McLaren represents the very best in the performance automotive world, PUBG MOBILE represents world leaders in mobile gaming. It seemed like a natural collaboration, and we're excited to see our fans' reaction, and the reaction of PUBG MOBILE players as they experience what it is like to drive a McLaren for the first time on the mobile platform.”

The collaboration between PUBG MOBILE and McLaren is part of the new Version 1.4 update, which launched earlier this month, bringing new content, game modes, and maps to the game.

About PUBG MOBILE

PUBG MOBILE is based on PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS, the phenomenon that took the world of interactive entertainment by storm in 2017. Up to 100 players parachute onto a remote island to battle in a winner-takes-all showdown. Players must locate and scavenge their own weapons, vehicles, and supplies, and defeat every player in a visually and tactically rich battleground that forces players into a shrinking play zone.

About McLaren Automotive

McLaren Automotive is a creator of luxury, high-performance supercars.
Every vehicle is hand-assembled at the McLaren Production Centre (MPC) in Woking, Surrey, England.
Launched in 2010, the company is now the largest part of the McLaren Group.

The company's product portfolio of GT, supercar, Motorsport, and Ultimate models are retailed through over 85 retailers in 40 markets around the world.

McLaren is a pioneer that continuously pushes the boundaries. In 1981, it introduced lightweight and strong carbon fibre chassis into Formula 1 with the McLaren MP4/1.

Then in 1993 it designed and built the McLaren F1 road car - the company has not built a car without a carbon fibre chassis since. As part of the Ultimate Series, McLaren was the first to deliver a hybrid hypercar, the McLaren P1™. In 2016, it announced a new hybrid hyper-GT and confirmed in 2018 that the next Ultimate car would be the Speedtail.

2019 saw McLaren launch the 600LT Spider, the new GT, and the track-only McLaren Senna GTR. It also unveiled the 620R and McLaren Elva before launching the 765LT the following year.

Most recently, the company unveiled its all-new high-performance hybrid supercar, the McLaren Artura.

The Artura is the first McLaren to benefit from the McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA). The MCLA is designed, developed, and manufactured at the McLaren Composites Technology Centre in the Sheffield region of England using world-first processes, and will spearhead the brand's electrified future.

McLaren Automotive also chooses to partner with like-minded, world-leading companies and organisations who push the boundaries in their respective fields. These include AkzoNobel, Ashurst, Dell Technologies, Gulf, Pirelli, Richard Mille, and Tumi.
